In this bundle, I’ll post a physical CD to you and a little note, too (because I love snail mail).

Also, as soon as you order, you’ll receive by email a link to download my beautiful e-book of folk tradition, scholarship, and suggestions for celebrating these Irish feast days.

Description

Join me for a journey through the soulful folklore of the Irish ritual year!

Here, in song, is the story of each of the eight major Irish festivals and celebrations.

  • You’ll meet Brigit, saint and goddess, and glimpse her shape in the Irish women who tend the fire and bless their families.
  • St. Patrick teaches us about keeping faith with dreams and with the promise of spring.
  • The Good Folk come riding in May, sparking us into holy desire and quickening life.
  • Midsummer finds us at peak light and bloom, each of us a Sun of “courage and laughter.”
  • On Lúnasa we ride our horses into the Sea and savor the green and gold world in the weeks before Harvest.
  • The Cailleach – the Hag – issues a challenge to us at Michaelmas that can make us stronger if we keep our nerve.
  • On Samhain, we clean and cook in preparation for the annual return of those we’ve lost.
  • Christmas greets us with the wisdom and wonder of the animals who kneel at midnight and honor the Light.

About the songs

Voice and Piano – all composed and recorded on my beloved K Kawai baby grand piano

Raw files expertly mastered by Lauren Passarelli of PassaBrown Studios

I wove blessing into these songs as I made them: they are full of love and I think you’ll hear and feel that.

About the ebook

I wrote the accompanying e-book to help unlock the amazing storehouse that is Irish seasonal tradition. Inside, you’ll find:

  • Lyrics
  • Song notes
  • Folklore notes
  • Suggestions for celebration

I began to study Irish folklore 30 years ago when I attended University College Cork in Ireland; I must say that the interest and respect I hold for these traditions and stories has only grown with time. This e-book contains a snapshot of some of the most beautiful seasonal customs and beliefs I know.

My heart’s desire is that the songs and the book will inspire you to participate in your own way in these life-giving celebrations.

Gach beannacht leat! ~ Every blessing to you!
