Sir Paul McCartney is an honorary member of The Bardic Academy!
In a recent interview, he claimed his bardic lineage:
“My excuse (for not reading music) is that I have a Celtic background and they never wrote anything down. It’s all BARDS and you’ve got to remember it all… We just make it all up, and the whole thing is based on the instinct for what’s right…”
In the Bardic Academy we play with spontaneous composition, self-trust, and learning things by heart (rather than squinting at tiny lyrics on your phone). We cultivate our ability to remember and connect.
We are living descendants of those powerful magic-making Bards of early Ireland.
And turns out, we’re in some excellent company with the likes of Sir Paul!
